School of Chemistry and Biological Engineering (SCBE) at University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) was established on August 18, 2010, which originated from the basic chemistry major established during the founding of USTB. After more than 60 years of construction, it has achieved leap-forward development in terms of discipline growth, scientific research, education and teaching. Our school now has three departments: Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Department of Biological Science and Engineering, Center for Biological and Agricultural Research; 3 provincial and ministerial key laboratories: Beijing Key Laboratory for Science and Application of Functional Molecular and Crystalline Materials, Pesticide residues and Environmental Toxicology of USTB (Pesticide Registration Residue Test and Certification Unit of the Ministry of Agriculture), Beijing key Laboratory for Bioengineering and Sensing Technology; 1 affiliated unit: Research Center for Bioengineering and Sensing Technology.

SCBE has 1 first-level doctoral authorization point, 4 master's degree programs, and 1 post-doctoral research station. The chemistry discipline has entered the top 1% of the global ESI for seven consecutive years. Now this school has 119 faculty members, including 103 full-time teachers, 27 doctoral supervisors, 37 professors and 29 associate professors, including 2 Distinguished Professors of the Yangtze River Scholars Award Program, 3 winners of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, 2 leading talents of the "Ten thousand talents Program", 1 candidate of Millions of Talent Projects National candidates, 1 National Excellent Youth Science Fund winner, 8 talents of the Ministry of Education in the new century, and 6 winners of Beijing New Science and Technology Stars. There are more than 820 undergraduate students, postgraduate students, doctoral and international students studying in our school.
